Lucas was taken from his grandmother by his father during infancy. For many years, he lived a rogue lifestyle with his parents.
When Lucas and his family moved in next door to the Galen family, he saw Kylie lying down on the grass in her garden and walked toward her. His first thought about her was 'mine'. Kylie asked if he could see an elephant in the clouds.
One day, Lucas saved Kylie from a group of bullies who threw rocks at her, and tossed one back at one of the boys, hitting him in the center. From then on, they walked home from school together. On the night of a full moon, Lucas's father killed Kylie's cat, Socks. Lucas tried to protect it, but his father was stronger than him at the time.
A sad Kylie was then given a new kitten to replace the one she lost. Lucas warned her to have the cat indoors at night to keep it out of danger. Kylie then blamed him for killing her cat and told her parents. They went over to confront Lucas's parents. The next day, Lucas and his family moved away.
Lucas ultimately went to live with his grandmother, who fought his father for Lucas's custody and won. He was since raised by her, but remained in touch with his father and half-sister, Clara.
In the years that followed, Lucas grew up to become a strong and independent person with a goal to join the Were Council in order to make changes in the were society. He started attending Shadow Falls Camp at age sixteen, and was disappointed to see Kylie absent. On his second time there, he slept with Fredericka Lakota. While Fredericka took it as a sign of affection, Lucas never reciprocated her feelings.
Lucas and Kylie meet up again eleven years later. Lucas is shocked to see her there finally.
Kylie makes an effort in trying to avoid him, but Lucas makes many sly attempts to be near her and speak to her. On one occasion, Lucas leads a group on a hike to see dinosaur foot prints.
On a camp-mates hour, Lucas gets paired with Kylie. He takes her into the woods to find more dinosaur tracks. Kylie trips on the pond and falls, and Lucas laughs at her. Despite this, Kylie finds him amusing. When he tries to pull her up, she loses balance again and they both fall. In that moment, Lucas lurches up and kisses her in a passionate kiss that Kylie reciprocates. They are then interrupted by Kylie's ex-boyfriend Trey Cannon who has stumbled upon them by accident. He asks if Lucas is "Derek". Lucas greets coldly.
The next night, Lucas leaves Shadow Falls after being questioned and accused of the wildlife park incidents by FRU agents. On his way out, he stops by Kylie's cabin and gives her Socks Jr. as an apology for what happened eleven years ago. With that, he promptly disappears after a cryptic goodbye to Kylie, who is convinced of his innocence.
Lucas occasionally appears in Kylie's dreams. At first, Kylie believes him to be only a dream version, but later starts to suspect him to be real, especially when Lucas writes her letters, one of which telling her he'll see her in dreams. She consults Holiday, who tells her it may be her doing. Ghost whisperers tend to develop the ability to dreamscape and she may have been unknowingly visiting Lucas in his dreams.
Lucas returns to Shadow Falls with Fredericka, much to Kylie's displeasure. On the night after the Full Moon, he waits for Kylie and tries to get her to open up about why she is angry with him and asks her for a chance. Kylie, however, is still recovering from her fallout with Derek. She tells them that they are friends for now. While back at home to visit her mom, Kylie gets captured by a rogue vampire, Mario and Roberto Esparza. Desperate for help, she dreamscapes to Lucas and tells him where she is taken. Lucas calls Burnett for help then rushes in to save Kylie, only to get captured himself and badly injured before Kylie heals him. After a short battle against the Esparzas, Kylie is taken to Dr. Whitman's clinic.
Lucas and Kylie start an official relationship sometime after Derek leaves. However, their relationship isn't easy as Kylie finds out his pack views it as a negative, and Lucas's beliefs and culture complicate it. More complicated, people in Lucas's life start to come between their relationship. Fredericka is determined to break them up by making Kylie feel insecure about their relationship, while Lucas's grandmother tells Kylie the weres' way of life in matters of finding a mate.
He openly believes that Kylie is a werewolf, but she doesn't feel anything during the full moon. He also dislikes the idea of her being a ghost whisperer and a protector, so much so that he tries to discourage her from engaging herself in such matters.
They grow both closer but also further apart, as Kylie learns what she is: a chameleon. Lucas rebukes the revelation as he has never heard of chameleons before. He is visibly disappointed when Kylie turns out to be a witch. After Kylie unexpectedly turns into a vampire, he states that he doesn't care what she is and they almost have sex but are interrupted by Burnett's phone call.
A little bit later, Kylie realizes that she does in fact love Lucas and regrets not telling him. This, however, is short-lived when Kylie learns of his betrothal ceremony to a werewolf named Monique. When Kylie returns from the ceremony, she finds Lucas standing outside her cabin, waiting for her. He tries to get her to understand the position he is in and proclaims his love for her, but Kylie, having none of it, tearfully breaks up with him. This causes him to break off the engagement to win Kylie back.
He is last "seen" behind the first layers of trees watching Kylie leave camp with a hurt expression on his face.
Kylie returns to Shadow Falls two weeks later. To Lucas's unhappiness, she constantly avoids him despite his best efforts to reconcile with her. He is seen to be deeply hurt by the damage he caused their relationship and upset over their break-up and is willing to do anything to win Kylie back. He tries many times to earn her forgiveness, even going as far as to proclaim his love for her in front of everyone. Adding to his unhappiness, Lucas's breaking off the engagement has cost him his seat at the Were Council's table, and the Shadow Falls pack is now avoiding him for what he did.
He is assigned to teach Kylie sword-fighting with her magical crusader sword. During these training sessions, Kylie slowly starts to forgive him but is apprehensive about getting back together. Lucas is given an ultimatum by Kylie: if he doesn't get on the Were Council they won't get back together. Lucas works very hard to accomplish this goal to win her back. His grandmother passed away, and he is expected to stay throughout the burial procedure.
When Kylie goes to confront the Esparzas, Lucas somehow finds his way to her and helps her win against John Anthony Esparza.
At the end of the book, he successfully joins the council. Lucas gives Kylie a promise ring that was originally owned by his grandmother as proof of his love for her.
Lucas is first seen on the basketball court breaking up a fight between Steve and Chase. Lucas and Kylie are seen to spend more time together; late night walks, breakfast picnics, etc. Lucas came with Steve and Perry to the Funeral Home to try and help the girls. He is highly regarded in FRU missions, often being sent for things. He is there along with Kylie, Miranda, Perry, Derek, Steve, and Jenny when Della wakes up from her Reborn transformation.
Lucas is never fully around as much as he was in Reborn. He is first mentioned when Kylie said they were asked to go to Wal-Mart by Holiday to get eggs. He never truly appears in a scene until the end of the novel, when he is seen by Della sitting with Kylie and Ms. Galen on Parent's Day.
Lucas gives Della blood bags while she is absent from school. When she talks to a ghost, Lucas immediately notices her talking ways and looking elsewhere the way Kylie does when she talks to ghosts.
He is last seen welcoming Della back to Shadow Falls.
Lucas asks Fredericka about Brandon Hart. The pack prepares to transform under the full moon, after which Fredericka runs off to protect Brandon from Cary Cannon.
Lucas is co-protagonists with Kylie. He is mentioned to have already graduated and now works full-time at the council while doing part-time work for the FRU.
Lucas has agreed to spend Christmas with her and her mother. However, their date plans are constantly foiled by the Were Council, who oppose his relationship with a chameleon and want to rescind the law that enforces mixed marriages. After much debate, Lucas is outvoted by the council to spend a week in the woods around the time he is to spend Christmas with Kylie, much to Kylie's disappointment. When she accuses the council of trying to break them up, he defends them.
He then goes on a mission with Burnett to catch a fae criminal who scams elderly people's retirement money.
While in the woods, he finds himself being attacked and tries to outrun his enemies. He comes across a coyote pack that protects him. He ultimately gets a fatal shot, but Kylie manages to find and heal him. Together, they stop the attackers, whom turn out to be council members Sabastian Rozo and Jeremiah Holmes, and a few vampire mercenaries. Lucas realizes Kylie was right about the council and decides to quit, but she convinces him to stay on and fight to keep them from rescinding the laws that encourage inclusion between the species.
Lucas, Perry, Shawn, and Chase are working together at the FRU. While Shawn and Burnett are interrogating Lily Chambers, Chase and Lucas smell their pheromones and realize Shawn and Lily are attracted to each other.
When Miranda walks into Kylie's bedroom to talk about the baby she got from Perry and the visions, she accidentally bumps into a shirtless Lucas.
Lucas is later assigned to stand guard outside Lily Chambers's hospital room until Shawn Hanson comes to drive her home.
Lucas has jet-black hair and dark blue eyes. He is six feet tall, broad-shouldered, and has a muscular build, which changes in response to the phase of the moon. He is said to be very handsome. Della and Miranda state that he is like a god and frequently called a hottie and a hunk by both, and in some cases was flirted with by other female campers. When Lucas shifts into a wolf, he is a large, dark grey wolf with golden eyes.
Personality
As part of his werewolf traits, Lucas is stubborn, possessive, territorial, somewhat temperamental, and very protective of the people he cares about. Lucas is very loyal to his family, pack, and Kylie. He is also independent, intelligent, proper, and prideful. He was traumatized by his parents' evil deeds in the past and is not very proud of what he had done by their force. He dislikes being submissive and trusts no one outside of his pack.
He is also very caring and deeply affectionate towards Kylie, and always tries to be a gentleman around her.
Lucas was taught how to dance and trained in sword fighting.

As a Werewolf, Lucas possesses the following abilities:
Note: The intensity of his powers and physical build vary with the phases of the moon. The closer the full moon comes, the more powerful he becomes, and thus the more intense his instincts become. When the moon is no longer full, his physicality and abilities weaken.
Aside from these powers, Lucas is also skilled in sword fighting due to his family history as crusaders in Ancient Europe.

Family relationships
Clara Parker: Lucas' half-sister on his father's side. Not much is known about their relationship.
Mr. Parker: Lucas' father. They have a very toxic relationship and fight with each other constantly. This is shown many times during Whispers at Moonrise. In Chosen at Nightfall Monique mentioned that Mr. Parker practically denounced him after Lucas' unwillingness to go through with the engagement. Lucas briefly mentioned that his father is protective of him, however this may be a result of animalistic instincts.
Unnamed mother: She never made an appearance, She was mentioned very briefly by Clara in Whispers at Moonrise. Her relationship with her son is unknown, but it is implied that, like with his father, it isn't a good relationship.
Mrs. Parker: Is Lucas' grandmother. She and his Grandfather are Lucas's closest family. She raised him when his parents left and won custody over him. She is the only one who visited him at Shadow Falls, and Lucas was very upset and heartbroken when she died.
Romantic relationships

Kylie Galen: Lucas is deeply in love with Kylie, and is also very protective and possessive of her. Meeting her at the age of seven, he developed a relentless affection that later turned into an attraction for her. However, when they do finally start a relationship in Taken at Dusk, it is a bit complicated due to his heritage. He soon finds himself falling more and more in love with her, because of this he was heartbroken when Kylie broke up with him at the end of Whispers at Moonrise. Leading Lucas to give anything to win back her trust and affection, which he eventually succeeds. At the end of Chosen at Nightfall, Lucas gives Kylie his Grandmother's ring as a promise ring. It is assumed they will get married when they are both of age. In Reborn and Eternal, they are said and seen spending more time with each other, and now have a better and more stable relationship. Fredericka Lakota: They had sex once on a Full Moon. He regretted it afterward while Fredericka considered herself his girlfriend. They are close friends. In Chosen at Nightfall he is enraged when he learns it was Fredericka who told Kylie about his engagement to Monique. He blamed her for trying to break them up.
Monique: Lucas' former fiancée through an arranged marriage. He merely went with the arrangement to gain his father's vote in joining the were council, but as soon as he realized Kylie found out, he broke off the engagement, much to Monique's relief.
Friendships
Will: Will is Lucas's closest friend and confidant. Will does not make many appearances but enough to show that he supports Lucas and does not mind his relationship with Kylie. Will would do him favors if Lucas asks, this is best shown in Taken at Dusk when Lucas asks Will to watch over Kylie in his absence. In Chosen at Nightfall, when Lucas was being rejected by the pack, Will still talks to him, showing that he does not believe in the old werewolf beliefs.
Fredericka Lakota: While having somewhat of a sexual history, Lucas and Fredericka are good friends who relate to each other with the plight of being raised by rogues.
Wolf Pack: He is the Alpha and representative of the Shadow Falls wolf pack. Although they disapprove of Lucas' relationship with Kylie, he still leads them and is very close with all its members.
Burnett James: Lucas is a good friend of Burnett. It was shown in Chosen at Nightfall that Lucas was Burnett's best man at his wedding.
Chase Tallman: Works together at times at the FRU. They have built a friendship through their girlfriends.
Derek Lakes: Derek was his rival for the affection of Kylie Galen. Lucas always gets jealous when Derek is around Kylie. They have a great dislike for each other, and if put in the same room often bicker and fight. After Kylie declared her love for Lucas and Derek moved on, they have likely put their former rivalry to rest.
Ms. Galen: Lucas and Ms. Galen didn't interact much with each other in the Shadow Falls series, however when they did, they were kind and polite toward each other. In Reborn it's said by Miranda that she allowed Lucas over to her house to see Kylie. In Eternal he is seen sitting with Kylie and Ms. Galen at parents day. Della notes that he must be getting used to Ms. Galen as he looked comfortable in her presence on Parent's Day.
Della Tsang: While having a natural dislike for each other's species, Lucas and Della are shown to respect each other. In Unspoken, he is given the task to deliver blood bags to Della for feeding.
Lucas's ancestry goes back to the Scandinavians, and sword fighting has been in his family for 1000 years and he was personally trained by his grandfather when he was younger.
His sword, somewhat similar to Kylie's Crusader Sword, is a family heirloom that has been passed down in his family for generations. His grandfather passed it down to him before he passed away.
