Shapeshifting is the power to change their shape into another creature and gain that creature's physical properties.
The user can trick anyone into thinking they are someone else. This is the basic power of shape-shifters, after which they are named.
Description
This power is triggered mostly by anger, but can also be controlled by willpower. Depending on lineage and training, a shifter can control the speed of their transformation and what they wish to turn into, such as mythical beings or extinct animals. They can also manipulate their size when they shift.
Most shape-shifters cannot assume the form of other people, only animals and the like. Certain shape-shifters are only able to turn into small creatures such as cats or birds. When a shape-shifter changes, sparkles form around their body and their brain pattern changes as well.
Half-blooded shape-shifters are more limited to what they can shift into than pure-blooded shape-shifters. Certain shape-shifters can change their eye color as well, though so far only Perry Gomez has been the case.
Variations
Healing Factor
When a shape-shifter shifts back to their original form, any injury they may have suffered while in another form will automatically be healed, though they will still feel some of the lingering pain.
Voice Mimicry
Certain shape-shifters change their voices without shifting. They can change it to a level that makes them sound beast-like to induce fear to their enemy.
Limitations
Shapeshifting requires concentration, imagination and willpower, but can also be triggered by anger. If the user feels said emotion, they may perform the shift involuntarily.
Shape-shifters cannot change their gender.
The healing factor only works for as long as the user is alive. So far, it has only been effective while shape-shifters were in another form.
