Fredericka Lakota is a werewolf student at Shadow Falls Academy. She is a member of Lucas's pack and is very deeply affectionate toward him, which is why she is incredibly resentful at Kylie for his affection. She often tries to find ways to scare her off and is openly hostile towards her and her friends.

Biography

Early Life

Fredericka was raised by her father, Mr. Lakota, for the first ten years of her life. Her mom died during childbirth and Fredericka presumed her father didn't want to be close to her because she reminded him too much of her mother.

Over the first ten years of her life, Fredericka suffered neglect and physical and verbal abuse from her father's multiple girlfriends whom he expected to take care of her while he was absent. One of said girlfriends burned her with a hot spoon, which resulted in her father murdering her in a fit of rage when he found out.

When she was ten years old, Mr. Lakota left her in the care of Mr. Parker's rogue pack. Mr. Parker had taken pity on her and assigned her to one of his pack matrons to be cared for, however, there was no love in that setting or mistreatment in fear of Mr. Parker's retaliation.

At one point, she attended Shadow Falls Camp and slept with Lucas Parker during a transformed night. She had been sticking close to him since, but he never let their relationship advance further.

Born at Midnight

Fredericka is constantly seen around Lucas, much to his annoyance. She is openly hostile to Kylie and goes as far as threatening her to stay away from Lucas. The reason behind this is revealed by Lucas that they slept together last year under a Full Moon. He is very regretful of what happened and tries to let her down gently she however doesn't get the picture, she firmly believes they are mates. When Lucas leaves camp to go and save his Half-Sister, Clara, she follows him.

Awake at Dawn

While she was helping Lucas save Clara, she developed a close friendship with Clara. When she finds out about Lucas's letter to Kylie, she tells Derek about them, causing even more strain on Kylie and Derek's relationship. Later, on a full moon evening, she goes to Kylie's cabin and threatens her again and is accused of putting a lion in Kylie's cabin one month ago (Note: Fredericka did not actually do this, it is actually unknown on who put the lion in Kylie's cabin.) She eventually attempts to attack Socks (who is in skunk form) but gets sprayed by him out of fear, and gets thrown out of the cabin by Kylie, who attained super strength. She later tries to attack Kylie in wolf form but gets stopped by Lucas.

Taken at Dusk

Upset about Lucas and Kylie making their relationship official and that he seemed to fall for her even more every day, Fredericka continuously tries to sabotage them. Such as warning her about Lucas's pure bloodline, making it seem as if Lucas trusts Fredericka more than Kylie, and trying to rub in the fact that she is always around him and she isn't.

Whispers at Moonrise

Fredericka continues to torment Kylie by calling her a glowworm when she suddenly starts glowing when she heals Helen's hand and gives her dirty looks. She later finds Kylie snooping around Collin's cabin, and she helps Kylie save Holiday from Collin Warren and kills him in combat.

After this experience, they begin to come to an understanding of sorts. She is the one who tells Kylie about Lucas's engagement party and gives her the party invitation. She also tells Kylie to make sure she stays a werewolf as the party is exclusive.

Chosen at Nightfall

On Kylie's first day back at Shadow Falls, Fredericka inclines her head as her way of saying welcome back. Fredericka develops a new affection toward the new history teacher, Cary Cannon, and turns to Kylie for advice, effectively ending their rivalry and her affection toward Lucas. Kylie advises her to wait until graduation to avoid problems, which Fredericka agrees. She also tells Kylie that she should forgive Lucas because he loves her, and has made many sacrifices for her, including risking being outcasted by his pack and the were society.

Fredericka is last seen sitting in the back of Holiday and Burnett's wedding with Cary.

Unspoken

Fredericka is present at Della's surprise welcome-back party. She welcomes her back.

Fierce

Main article: Fierce

Fredericka assumes the role of the main character in the short story, Fierce. In it, she designs jewelry and attends an appointment with an artist, hoping to sell them and become a jewelry artist. A werewolf named Marissa Canzoni informs her that her father has passed away, and when she tells this to Cary, his cold reaction pushes her to end things between them. Meanwhile, she finds herself attracted to the artist, Brandon Hart, who turns out to be a mix between human, werewolf , and fae while also meeting the spirit of his dead sister, Linda. She learns from Holiday that she is descended from Native Americans and therefore develops the latent gift of ghost whispering.

Things get out of control when Cary blackmails her to get back together with him, going as far as to place a photo of Kylie colored in red and mark it with the word "DIE". She goes to Kylie, Miranda and Della for help.

Fredericka exposes Cary's dark deeds with Kylie's assistance and gets him fired from Shadow Falls. That night, Fredericka goes to Brandon's house to protect him from Cary and manages to chase him away with Della and Kylie's help. She later admits her identity as a werewolf to Brandon, who by now has learned about his supernatural origins through his late grandmother's diary. Through this experience, Fredericka develops an official friendship with Kylie and her friends.

Midnight Hour

Fredericka attends her graduation ceremony with Brandon there.

Physical Appearance

Fredericka has a wolf tattoo on her shoulder, which was only seen in Born at Midnight. She also has a burnt mark on her right arm that she received from one of her father's girlfriends' abuse.

Personality

In the beginning, Fredericka appears mean-spirited, threatening and would go to great lengths to get what she wants, including threatening someone's life and making it appear she is a villain.

She prefers to hang out with guys rather than girls.

She has a passion for jewelry and she is an aspiring jewelry maker and artist.

As a person who's had a hard upbringing, Fredericka dislikes having her emotions read and tends to keep to herself.
