Dreamscaping is the rare and powerful ability to enter other people's dreams and influence them.

Overview

The user has the power to enter another person's dreams when both parties are asleep. They control whatever happens in the dream. Dreamscaping is usually associated with ghost whisperers, though it is not unheard of that someone who lacks ghost-whispering powers can also dreamscape. When the user dreamscapes, they find their consciousness flying as though they were astral projecting toward the other person and can see the environment around them before entering that person's dream. It is possible to break out of the dreamscape by willing oneself to wake up.

When someone is new to this power, they sometimes dreamscape unconsciously.

Supernaturals tend to remember their dreams unless they are extremely exhausted before falling asleep.

History

Kylie once accidentally entered Lucas's dreams in Born at Midnight. He was already dreaming about her before she entered his dream. They went swimming in a lake.

Kylie starts dreaming about Lucas more frequently, in Awake at Dawn. Holiday identifies it as Kylie's ability to walk into his dreams, not the other way around. She later uses this power to inform Lucas of her abduction and whereabouts after she was abducted by Roberto Esparza.

In Taken at Dusk, Kylie accidentally finds herself dreamscaping to Derek Lakes and leaves immediately. Derek later shows up in her dream, revealing that he can dreamscape as well. They talk about everything that happened between them. She dreamscapes to Lucas, where she changes his shirt with her imagination. They dance shortly before she is unexpectedly pulled into a vision against her will.

She also starts getting dreamscaping visits from Roberto Esparza, who tries to warn her of the dangers coming her way, but she refuses to listen.

In Chosen at Nightfall, Derek dreamscapes to Kylie where he kisses her. Due to her overwhelming exhaustion from everything that happened, she finds herself remembering only bits and pieces of the dream. Sometime later, she dreamscapes to Lucas to convince him to fight to join the Were Council without playing into their games.
