Spell Casting — shadowfalls

Spell Casting is the art of casting spells to perform magical feats. Witches, warlocks, and wizards possess this ability.

Description

Witches and warlocks cast spells by waving their pinky fingers and chanting rhymes. They can also cast spells nonverbally by visualizing the outcome and wiggling their pinky fingers, but it is difficult to accomplish.

For spells to take the correct effect, the caster needs to have a clear image of what they want to accomplish and chant the words accordingly.

Reversal

Spells can be very hard to reverse if the caster doesn't remember the exact words they said.

For this reason, counteracting a spell cast by another witch can be very difficult.

Spell Creation

Witches and warlocks can learn to create their own spells with practice. The most important components of a spell are rhyming and clarity of mind. If the caster is unclear on the intentions, unexpected results may come.

Variations

Blood Magic

Witches can amplify the effects of their spells using blood magic, in which two or more witches of the same bloodline cast the same spell together while holding hands.

Elemental Control

Witches can use spells to call upon the forces of nature.

Force Field

Witches can generate protective force fields and protection spells around themselves and a certain area.

Cursing

With enough evil or malevolent intent, a witch's spell can curse the person of interest. Curses can either be targeted at a certain person, an object, or an area, and those who experience the curses are met with harmful effects.
